The Kuna is the official currency of Croatia. Its ISO 4217 code is HRK and to mark prices the symbol <em>kn<\/em> is used. In <strong>1994<\/strong>, after the disintegration of Yugoslavia they began to issue the Kuna which means marten in Croatian, referring to its traditional use.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Notes and coins<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Croatian Kuna banknotes<\/strong> are 5, 10, 20, 50, 100, 200, 500 and 1000 Kunas. On the front of the banknotes are relevant characters in the story, independence and culture of Croatia.
