New 100 and 200 Euro notes
Last September, the European Central Bank published how the new 100 and 200 Euro notes will be.
These new notes correspond to the Europe series that began to be issued in 2013 with the new 5 Euro note. Subsequently, the new 10, 20 and 50 Euros banknotes were issued.
These two denominations will be the last to be renewed, since the ECB has decided to stop issuing the 500 Euros notes permanently. This does not mean that they cease to be valid. They will continue to be legal, but will not be issued or renewed.
The new designs of the notes, as happened with the ones of minor denominations, will keep the main reasons for its design: doors and bridges of baroque and rococo styles on the 100 note and the early 19th century on the 200 euro note. They also include an iridescent band and a window like the other tickets in the series.
The new 100 and 200 Euros banknotes will be put into circulation on May 28, 2019. For the moment, the two series of Euro notes will coexist indefinitely.
