Things to keep in mind before planning a trip
If you are coming on holiday to Spain you will need to exchange your Pounds, Dollars, Krones, etc …into Euros. In Eurochange´s Customer Service we receive many inquiries from our customers and we wanted to gather the most frequently asked questions in a post so that it may be helpful when deciding where to exchange.
Where should I exchange my money at the airport, in any exchange office or in Eurochange?
Our advice is: ask, compare and decide.
Exchange offices at airports have a more expensive price than the exchange offices in the cities so we recommend that you only use in case of extreme necessity.
Like I said in the exchange offices in the cities have better prices. However, be careful. There are those who advertise a price but then they either charge comission or the price only applies to high amounts of money, or they advertise the selling price … In short, they find a excuse to apply another price and the customer only realizes when they have already performed the operation. You can see an example in this video we found on Youtube: Benidorm scam money exchange
In Eurochange will inform you of the price you'll be recieving, we do not want you to leave with the feeling of having been deceived.
Should i take money from an ATM or use my card in Eurochange*?
*In our exchange offices wich have a card payment service: Torrevieja, Punta Marina, La Zenia and Los Alcazares.
If you pay by card in Eurochange, the rate applied is the price determined by the bank. In addition, to pay by card has a fee of 2% of the transaction.
If you take money from an ATM, the rate is also decided by the bank, but also the cost of the service will be 4-6%. With which you will pay more for the same amount of Euros.
Do I have to reserve Euros before going to the exchange office?
As a general rule, we always have availability in our exchange offices. However if it is a high amount or you want to be sure that we have the Euros available, you can make a reservation. Remember that the rate applied will be the rate on the day you pick up your currency.
Is there any way to get a better rate?
Yes, there is. We have a loyalty system, Eurochange CLub. The members of our Club get a point each day they come to make a exchange. On the fifth day you will recieve extra rate.
Also, if you already are a member and you bring a friend to join we will give an extra point.
Do you accept all types of Pounds?
To date we accept Pounds from England, Scotland and Northern Ireland if they are legal tender. However, we recommend that you consult us before to make sure we can accept them. If you have pounds of other regions, we can also check whether if we could accept them. Just contact us and we will confirm whether it is possible or not.
